There are three different tunes called "The Humors of Whiskey": a song, a slip jig and this one,<br> a double jig in D major. The Gaelic title is "Sugra na Uisge-Beata".<br> The parts are played AABB.<br> This air bears a general resemblance to the "Maid on the Green/Maiden on the<br> Green" group of tunes, according to Bayard (1981). Flood (1906) reports that it was recorded by<br> the Belfast Northern Star of July 15th, 1792, as one of the tunes having been played in<br> competition by one of ten Irish harp masters at the last great ancient Irish harpers convocation,<br> the Belfast Harp Festival, held that week.<br> It was printed in O'Neill (Krassen)(1976),<br> O'Neill's Music of Ireland: 1850 Melodies (1903) and<br> O'Neill's Dance Music of Ireland: 1001 Gems (1907).<br>
